The Dräger HPS 4500 is a traditional half-shell firefighting helmet designed for structural firefighting, fire and rescue services, technical rescue and industrial emergency response. Combining a high-temperature-resistant glass-fibre-reinforced duroplastic shell with aramid reinforcement, the helmet provides protection against impact hazards and extreme heat in demanding firefighting operations.

Certified to EN 443:2008 Type A, the HPS 4500 features an adjustable 4-point retention harness, comfortable interior suspension and an internal handwheel for head-size adjustment. Two shell sizes are available to accommodate different users.

EN 443 Firefighting Helmet Protection

The Dräger HPS 4500 is approved to EN 443:2008 Type A for firefighting applications. The manufacturer lists additional performance information including radiant heat resistance, low-temperature testing and E2/E3 electrical insulation markings. These markings must be interpreted according to the applicable standard and the instructions supplied with the helmet. They do not establish general-purpose electrical insulation certification under EN 50365.

Optional Visors and Face Protection

The HPS 4500 supports approved faceguard configurations, including a heat-resistant polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) visor for firefighting applications and a polycarbonate visor for suitable technical rescue applications. Visor material, certification and compatibility vary by configuration. The helmet and optional visor must be selected together according to the intended use.
