Highly Modular and Expandable Gas Detection Control Systems
The Dräger REGARD® 3900 Series is a premium, standalone multi-channel control system designed for the continuous monitoring of toxic gases, oxygen depletion, and combustible hazards. Engineered with a highly modular architecture, this control card system can evaluate up to 16 analog channels, making it the perfect solution for medium-to-large scale industrial operations requiring comprehensive safety monitoring and automated alarm infrastructure.
Configurable Input Cards and Seamless Transmitter Pairing
The core flexibility of the REGARD® 3900 Series lies in its card-slot design philosophy. Facilities can populate the control rack with up to four distinct 4-channel input cards (4 to 20 mA analog or optional digital fieldbus protocols). This enables operators to scale their gas protection system incrementally as plant expansions occur. The control unit works seamlessly with the entire portfolio of stationary Dräger gas transmitters, supplying stabilized operating power while simultaneously compiling real-time atmospheric data.
Advanced Relay Logic and System Integration
Equipped with robust, fully configurable internal relay modules, the system offers unmatched flexibility for alarm notification and hazard mitigation. Each individual channel can map to independent alarm levels, while common fault, master alarm, and warning relays are built in to execute plant-wide shutdowns. For streamlined connectivity with centralized plant control structures, an integrated Modbus gateway allows the controller to communicate directly with distributed SCADA frameworks and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Industrial Applications and Use Cases
Chemical Manufacturing Plants: Centralized data logging and hazard mitigation for cross-facility toxic gas lines.
Large-Scale Water Treatment: Monitoring toxic chlorine or explosive ozone and methane gases across complex processing basins.
Pharmaceutical Cleanrooms: Multiplexed atmospheric surveillance across sterile production environments and extraction labs.
Automotive and Painting Assembly: Managing safety networks and automated exhaust systems around multi-booth spray areas.
